Day 4 (Italian Treats and Free Time)
"Your guide will come up with something delightfully different for this morning's sightseeing. Then you'll be treated to a cooking demonstration and a delectable lunch. You'll have the rest of the day free to make your own Roman discoveries."
Today we had the choice of either going to a Papal Audience or a walk through the Trastevere area. Cammie and I choose to go to the Papal Audience. We took the metro just as we did the previous day and walked into St. Peter's Square and through security and into the auditorium for the audience.

The audience was interesting. It was done in many different languages. Was neat to see that there were some church groups from Louisiana in attendance.
After the audience was over we took a taxi to meet up with the rest of the tour group at the restaurant Lumie di Sicilia for a cooking demo and lunch.
The menu was a salad with a piece of prosciutto that was cooked in a sauce of balsamic vinegar, two kinds of pasta (one made with pistachios and one with ricotta and eggplant), pork tenderloin with eggplant, and for dessert canollies. Everything was outstanding!! Didn't take any pictures....too busy eating!!
After lunch the group touring was over for the day. Cammie and I decided to check out a couple more churches. First up was St. Peter in Chains to see Michelangelo's statue of Moses.

Next we walked to the Church of San Clemente. Very interesting church as you can see the different layers of building in one place! No pictures as they were not allowed.
Took the metro back towards the hotel and had supper at a restaurant called Zeus. We both had a plate of pasta. Walked to the hotel and crashed once again!
